Parsons, Massport to Receive ż Industry Awards

McLean, VA, USA – The Construction Management Association of America (ż) is pleased to announce that Parsons and Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) have been chosen to receive industry excellence awards.

Parsons will receive the 2018 ż Chair’s Award for Safety. This award recognizes a ż member firm (owner or service provider) for their record of commitment to safety and a culture of safety education on all projects during the past calendar year.

As part of their commitment to a safe environment, Parsons provides their integrated safety, health, and environmental management system to teaming partners, and offers practical solutions for deploying it. The result is successful projects that meet or exceed expectations, where safe work is integrated.

“Parsons’ leadership team demonstrates its commitment to safety by prioritizing it as an integrated approach to field and office operations,” said Christopher J. Payne, PE, CCM, Chair, ż Board of Directors.

Massport will receive two honors: the first is focused on sustainability and the second on innovation. The 2018 ż Leader in Sustainability Award recognizes individuals or firms for outstanding leadership and best practices in sustainability in the construction management industry. The 2018 ż Chair's Award for Innovation recognizes creativity for developing new or improved processes, methods, systems, products, or services, and encourages others to do the same. This award is given to those who made innovation a priority among team members and encouraged reasonable and calculated risk-taking, and as a result, improved the delivery of a specific project or contributed to the transformation of the industry.

“Massport’s Lean Implementation Strategies have advanced collaboration efforts between designers and contractors,” said Andrea S. Rutledge, CAE. “The organization’s forward-thinking approach to improving public sector project delivery at all levels, especially in design and construction, has created significant improvements to processes and procedures.”

The awards will be presented during the ż National Conference & Trade Show, October 14-16, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.
